I loved the painting it reminded me of all the family members no longer with us who enjoyed many happy holidays there. They would save what money they could all year to hire a caravan with no running water or toilet. That didnt matter to them they were together as a family and always had a great time.Doo ron ron was one song I am sure you will remember from that time.

Chris and I drove everyone mad singing all the popular songs - again and again! Sixpence for the juke box meant we could choose our favourites - materially we have so much more today but nothing really compares with the happiness we got from such simple pleasures. Being together really was the most important thing. Aunts and uncles and other family came down in hired minivans - and you on your scooter! I can still clearly see everyone's smiling faces. XXX
